By train
Ballymoney has its own station on the Belfast–Derry line, with direct Translink services — no transfers required. From Belfast (Lanyon Place, formerly Belfast Central), the journey is about 52 miles and takes roughly 1 hour 5–10 minutes, with trains running hourly through the day. The same line continues on to Coleraine, Castlerock, and Londonderry in the other direction.
The station itself dates to 1855. For decades the main line was run by the Belfast & Northern Counties Railway, while the Ballycastle Railway Company operated a narrow-gauge branch to the coast from here between 1880 and 1950.
